World Refugee Day: Congratulations Jeroen De Vos winner of our Future Makers Award 2017
As today is World Refugee Day, we would like to congratulate Jeroen De Vos from Belgium, winner of our Future Makers Award at the CoderDojo Coolest Projects Showcase 2017 who created the ‘Welcome Here’ app that facilitates refugees integration in the community. The app provides a step by step checklist with key information they need to get started in a new country. The app was developed in collaboration with the Flemish Refugee Organization.
To recap the Future Makers Awards aim to celebrate digital solution that answer society’s most pressing challenges by encouraging young people to take an active role in their communities. The initiative is part of Liberty Global’s Digital Imagination flagship program – led by our Corporate Responsibility department which focuses on empowering positive change through technology.
