The idea!
This year we are developing a digital treasure hunt for attendees of CoderDojo Coolest Projects which takes place in the RDS, Dublin on Saturday 17th June 2017. We want to place bluetooth wireless beacons in different locations at the event for attendees to find using an app specifically developed for the treasure hunt. These beacons will be picked up by the app based on proximity. By using the app and finding the beacons you will collect points! Learn about what these points can be used for at the Coolest Projects in June!
We have the beacons! Now, we need your help to build the app!
Together with Travelport Digital we will be hosting an Appathon (like a Hackathon but for Apps) on Saturday 25th March 2017 to build it and we are looking for app developers of all ages, young and old to get involved! In particular if you have UI, design or experience building iOS apps using Swift or Android apps using Java we would really appreciate your support on the day!
Applications are open to CoderDojo Community Members including mentors, parents, youth members aged 13 – 17 with relevant experience and any app developers who also want to get involved.
There will be limited space on the day so register asap!
Please note:
- You will need to have some experience building iOS apps using Swift or Android apps using Java.
- Applications are open to:

Youth members aged 13 – 17 with relevant experience
Any app developers that also want to get involved.
- All attendees under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult or guardian.
- There will be limited space on the day.
