Speaker Profile: Laura Browne, Mentor at the DCU Intergenerational Learning Program

We are delighted that Laura Browne will be speaking at the Coolest Projects event!

Laura is a final year student in DCU studying computer applications. She is a Mentor with the DCU Intergenerational Learning Program, which teach over 55s computer and technology skills! Laura has a great interest in “Internet Of Things” technologies and recently won the Intel Galileo 3rd level competition with her IoT project, “PowerScout” energy monitoring system. The project uses the Intel Galileo to take energy readings from electrical appliances around the home and display the current energy usage of each appliance in terms of wattage and euro on a dashboard.
